The Croods review
Animation movie “The Croods” review. No spoilers, decide for yourself if the movie is worth watching or not.
Movie genres are animation, adventure, comedy and family. The was released on March 22, 2013. Voices by Emma Stone Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. Movie was directed by Kirk De Micco and Chris Sanders.
MPAA rated PG. This is a DreamWorks Animation production film.
The title of the movie sounds a bit awkwared however the movie is not. Once the movie is over one would realise that the title of the movie does match the content. The main genre of the movie would be adventure and comedy with some family bonding and romance. The movie started off like a teen movie with the usual theme of youngster dreaming of exotic adventure and the parent preventing them from pursuing their crazy or dangerous dream. The teen would be the girl called Eep whose voice is provided by Emma Stone. The father is Grug and the voice is provided by Nicolas Cage. Grug is a strong, caring but unimaginative father. He follows only one method of survival. This plan manages to keep the family alive. However they have to lead a boring life inside a cave. Eep is bored of this life and wants to have some adventure in her life and explore other lands. Soon the movie turns into an adventure involving Guy voiced by Ryan Renolds. Comedy is spread throughout the movie. The comedy is not hilarious however it will keep you giggling and entertained. Towards the end of the movie the father and daughter make up and we get the usual happy ending.
The Croods is a fairly realistic movie. This is what sets apart the movie from the usual animation movies. The animation of the cavemen characters are very much realistic. If it were a Disney movie then Eep would have beautiful skin, long sunsilk washed hair and a great figure. She would also be the cutest cave girl in history. The movie on many occasions does show the real risks and dangers the people had to face. The animation is good and colorful. The background music is also enjoyable.
To conclude the croods review I would say that among the animation movies of 2013 this was the one which entertained me the most. So if you are wondering “should I watch The Croods or not?”. Then the answer would be yes, go ahead and watch the movie. It is a family movie which both children and adults would enjoy.
